I was lucky to begin my design education by working with stat cameras, typesetters, and color separations on physical boards. Soon after that, the Macintosh changed everything. Creating visual communication during the pre-computer days took patience and skill. All this handwork imbued me with a respect for craft which I carry over to the work I do today on the digital side of design.
I owe much to the guidance and leadership of my design educators at Edinboro University for laying a solid foundation in design principles. I have developed my business, technology and marketing chops over 20 years as a print and digital creative.
I am currently involved in a number of user interface and UX projects which require layout solutions that respond to the needs of the user. Having empathy for the user creates a solid foundation for the the voice of the brand to be heard clearly.
I believe that research is important, style is substantive, and creativity is best served when all are invited to the process.
